Finding Happiness πŸ˜ŠπŸ’ƒ

Image
I have been thinking about happiness lately. Eleanor Roosevelt once stated happiness is not a goal. It is a by - product. At some point in my life I wondered if I would ever find happiness. I wondered how I would feel to be truly happy. I envisioned it as reaching a milestone and finally stepping into the realm of happiness. However, why was I not happy then?  I have always been a girl very" focused", principled and "serious" about life. I always wanted things to be done a certain way, and life to go a certain way.  Yet, I have come to realize life isn't a linear path . Relinquishing control and letting things flow is a very important aspect to happiness. When you relinquish control, you become more adaptable to change and better able to handle unexpected situations. Allowing things to flow naturally stimulates creativity and opens up new possibilities that you might not have considered otherwise. When you release the need to control every outcome, you experienc...

Celebrating yourself πŸŽ‰πŸ’•πŸ’ƒ

Image
A friend introduced me to the concept of celebrating small wins alone, which I've grown to love. The truth is, if you don't learn to be your own cheerleader, you'll never fully experience the joy of success. Celebrating yourself is crucial for maintaining a positive mindset and staying motivated. Here are some effective ways to celebrate your achievements: 1. Engage in a self-care routine: Choose activities that nurture your mind, body, and soul. This could be anything from nature walks to spa visits—whatever makes you feel good, prioritize it. 2. Take time to meditate: Reflect on the rewards of your self-improvement efforts, practice gratitude, and simply take a moment to appreciate your progress. 3. Cook and enjoy your favorite meal: Indulge yourself by preparing and savoring a dish you love. Eliminate distractions and fully immerse yourself in the moment. 4. Share your successes: Confide in a trusted friend who genuinely celebrates your accomplishments. Sharing your joy ...

Waiting 😌😻

Image
I used to despise waiting. Call me impatient or expectant of instant results, and I would readily agree. Waiting for anything used to aggravate me, whether it was standing in line at the bank (thankful for digital banking), waiting at the grocery store, or even for services at the local dispensary. I simply detested the idea of queuing up. However, upon reflection, I can confidently say that some of my most profound lessons were learned during periods of waiting. Concepts like gratitude, peace, and trust were cultivated during these seasons. Waiting is a gift. When we sleep, our bodies have ample time for cells and muscles to regenerate, thereby healing damaged tissues and enhancing brain function. Similarly, we require periods of pause where we must wait for God to work on us and impart these invaluable lessons, which are nearly impossible to learn amidst busyness and distractions. This reflection completely shifted my perspective on waiting. As the famous quote by Ralph Waldo Emerso...

LoveπŸ’•

Image
Love 😍 I love  to see two people holding hands and loving each other. What is more beautiful than people who truly love and care for each other? When I think deeper about love,  I feel it's the driving force that fuels our daily lives. Without love, life would lack flavor. When we start loving others good things come our way. When we feel loved, we can't be depressed. It however starts with loving yourself first. A topic for another day but truth is that,  focusing on love generates positive energy that the universe graciously reciprocates. Please feel loved today. ❤️ Ps. God loves you. Becoming πŸ’ƒ

Image
"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are"  Carl Jung . Isn't it peculiar that one of the simplest yet often perceived as the most arduous tasks in life is to embrace one's authentic self? Recently, a friend introduced me to the teachings of Fr. Richard Rohr, a spiritual thinker who delves into the concept of BEING. As a Christian, I understand that we are all created in the image of God, implying that embodying our true selves is akin to reflecting God's essence. Rohr further elaborates that at the core of our being, rooted in God, is love. However, our perception has been clouded by a culture of insecurity, competition, and lack of love, largely influenced by the Western interpretation of God. This distortion has led us to believe that we must mold ourselves to fit into this flawed universe. Yet, deep down, I know that true happiness, fulfillment, and impact can only stem from being our true selves. Thus, it becomes not just a challenge but a...

The Woods πŸŒΏπŸŒ³πŸ‚πŸͺΆ

Image
"The clearest way into the universe is through a forest wilderness." - John Muir This quote applied to me quite literally. It has been my routine almost every evening to take a lengthy walk into the woods. The introspection and calmness that the woods offer defy verbal explanation . On this particular Monday evening, as I strolled through the woods, I couldn't help but remember my old days when my entire sanity depended on these walks and the murmurs of the trees lining my path. During these walks, I cried, prayed, and cursed all in equal measure. My life had been tumultuous nearly  engulfing me entirety .I was in utter darkness. Before that, it had been chaos. But somehow I felt I could handle the chaos, just not this darkness. I was in debt, I felt betrayed, isolated, jobless,  and as if that wasn't enough, I had just turned 30! It contradicted all the goals I had set for myself by age 30. I felt like a failure, felt like I had disappointed myself, my parents, my me...

Embracing Beauty😍

Image
❤ " The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" goes the adage.  In youth, aspirations paint a vivid picture of an idyllic life, a reward for unwavering commitment and diligence.  The belief, whether deemed naive or innocent, is that adhering to societal norms, exhibiting obedience, discipline, and focus would automatically grant access to a well-deserved future. Life, however, is an unyielding sculptor, shaping individuals through a myriad of experiences, some challenging, unexpected, or even frustrating, thus chiseling away the youthful naivety.  As I strolled beneath the golden strokes of the Sunday morning sun, waves of nostalgia washed over me, prompting reflection on the innocence of past dreams in contrast to the dynamic reality that unfolded. In this moment, two words echo in my thoughts: 'Beauty' and 'Dreams.' Through my personal journey and acquired wisdom, one undeniable truth surfaces – beauty exists in every experience...
